Information Regarding Fees, Payment, and Insurance
Fees
Initial 20 minute consultations are required for prospective clients and are free. My regular rate for counselling and psychotherapy is $150 for a 50 minute session. This is the same for all meeting formats, including virtual, “walk and talk”, and office based options. Intake sessions may run up to 75 minutes in length, however, this is charged at the same flat rate.
Because I strive to make mental health support more accessible, I offer a number of significantly reduced rate/sliding scale spots for those who need it. Please inquire if you are interested.
Payment
Payment in full is due by the end of each session. Options for payment include credit card, e-transfer, or cash. Once payment is received and the session is completed you will be issued an official receipt, including my registration number and other information for insurers for reimbursement.
Insurance
Most Canadian insurers and extended health benefit plans cover services provided by a Registered Psychotherapist and will reimburse you for my services. In this situation, I will provide you with a receipt following our completed session that will have the information your insurer generally requires for reimbursement. With that said, prospective clients are always asked to verify coverage with their insurance plans prior to making an appointment. This includes determining whether services with a Registered Psychotherapist are eligible for coverage, as well as general information about your benefits for mental health services (including maximum annual benefit, co-insurance, and any session limits, if applicable). Every insurance plan is quite different and clients cannot be reimbursed for fees paid due to insurance not covering my services.
Please keep in mind that Ontario Health Insurance Plan (OHIP) does not cover my services.
